As the interface between your ideas and paper, I consider writing instruments to be critically important. They are not just functional devices that make letters, sketches, diagrams and scribbles on paper, but noble objects that ideally inspire me to capture my best ideas on paper!

That’s why I don’t use a cheap, run-of-the-mill pen. My go-to tool for inscribing my ideas is a Lamy 2000 4-color ballpoint pen. It enables me to color code my notes – black and blue for note-taking, red for emphasis and green for action items. It’s also quite useful for producing colorful, hand-drawn mind maps and diagrams. I’ve been using one for over 20 years. It has become an extension of me and how I work. If I don’t have it with me, the act of writing in my notebooks just feels wrong somehow.

I encourage you to develop a similar relationship with your writing instrument. Find one that inspires you. Like a sword is to a knight, a pen is an indispensable piece of your creative arsenal – a sharp object you can use to gaffe ideas and transmute them into physical form.

This collection includes unique and inspiring ballpoint and rollerball pens that are certain to delight your creative tastes, min-pens that fit in your pocket and enable you to capture your ideas any time, anywhere and fountain pens, for those times when you want to partake in a truly special writing experience!
